[SOLVED] Kubuntu 20.10 + trash can

Hello,
I have installed Kubuntu 20.10 and I don't see the trash can on the desktop.
Is there a way to make it appear?

Isn't it a feature of the file manager? Open Dolphin, the Trash folder should be there in the Places panel (or in the location bar if the Places panel is hidden).

Well, there's also this ancient thread. I believe the names of the icons should be different now (something like Icon=user-trash-full and EmptyIcon=user-trash), but the desktop file format basically stayed the same.

You are right. It does appear in Dolphin.
However, it is in the tradition of Win 95 to have a trash can on the desktop and I am a Windows guy

That dude, AdaHacker, has the right solution.

AdaHacker:
Right-click the desktop and select "Create New->Link to Location (URL)..." and put in "trash:/" for the location.

I have a question @vmelkon. How were you able to install Kubuntu 21.04 Hirsute Hippo. Ubiquity fails?

Unless of course you downloaded it in the beginning or used full-upgrade. Current downloads fail.

I have never installed 21.04.
I had installed 20.04 LTS on my Phenom II I think and it was freezing. I am back to 18.04 on that PC.
On an Athlon II X2 and Ryzen 1800X, I have 20.10 groovy gorilla now. It has been 2 days that I installed on those 2 PCs.
