Question konqueror don't connects to the internet !!! NEED HELP !!!

hello everyone...
I connect to the internet via “pppd” (I have a dial-up connection to the internet)
I have no problem with firefox , opera , thunderbird and ...
but my konqueror is not online ( it means it don't load web pages and don't use my dial-up connection)
I use no proxy servers to connect to the internet...
please help me to repair my konqueror web browser ...
NOTE: I have installed kubuntu 7.10 gutsy on my system and konqueror shows this error when I try to enter a web site or load a web page...

Quote:
An error occurred while loading http://www.google.com:
Could not connect to host http://www.google.com/.
I NEED YOUR HELP MY FRIENDS...
Please help me if you can...

go into kde control centre and make sure your settings in
internet and network are acceptable.....if by some chance....its set as proxy and you are not...that could be an issue.

Its a long time ago that I use a dial up modem ,but suse has kinternet to make connection to the internet.
If the connection is there , it does not matter anymore with web browser you use
So if konqueror is the only one who could not reach the internet check the settings of konqueror.

all the best

Hi,

I agree with ronlau9:

Definitely if your machine overall, or any program has access to internet, then any program that does not have net connection has a settings issue. possibly have you set konqueror to be your file manager, therefore be default it does not resolve URL's?

Best of luck, let us know how it goes...

i checked konqueror settings but i found no problems...
konqueror is not the only software that dont access to the internet...
i think my kde cant access too...
for example when i want get new wallpapers in my desktop configuration by "Get New Wallpapers" key it cant do it and tells me cant connect to the internet or when i want get more chat windows for my kopete in it's configuration , it shows me an error ...
for example it's the error for "Get new wallpapers" key...

first message box:
Quote:
Could not connect to host http://download.kde.org/khotnewstuff...-providers.xml.
second message box:
Quote:
Error parsing providers list.
so please help my this problem...

Thanks.
bye.
