really, ,cool.
Now my question maybe off topic or something, but how did you install the new kernel, 2.6.18? Can u list the steps or recommend articles?- i have never compiled kernel before.
yeah the only issue I have is lvm, & evm deny me access to hard drives other than / which.
I don't even know how to use them, so I turned them off and I am fine.
I just want to caution you about this as, all the guides that I have read, no one addresses this issue, so if you are using LVM or the evm or raid you may get messed up.
umm, so i followed your guide, which was excellent by the way, but compilation is taking a while. How long does it usually take because its my first time and it has been going on for 2hrs straight- just a little concerned. current display:
Code:
CC [M] net/sched/sch_dsmark.o
CC [M] net/sched/sch_sfq.o
CC [M] net/sched/sch_tbf.o
tidiman it took my pc @ 2200 mhz about an hour to compile. it takes time for sure. i have one pc that made a kernel in 20 hrs and that was a 400 mhz machine - ouch.
