Files I am sending via Network Services-> Ftp Servers-> MyMac do not keep their created dates. Creation a modification date are set to 'now'.
How may this be fixed?
Thank you
Yes, rsync does the job but it does not fit my needs. I need GUI. In KDE I make a file selection (jpgs) looking their thumbnails and then drag-drop to the ftp location.
At this time I do this in WinXP inside VMWare. It is a weird way to do this.
Thank you
You know that I oftently (several times a day) select two or three files (Konqueror or Dolphin) and drop them on my ftp link. I am only asked to move or copy them. And that's all. I want to keep it simple, keep original dates in ftp. Thanks!

Yes, you want to keep it simple but on the other side a file is *created* when you transfer it. Creating a file sets the MAC time of the file. FTP just doesn't work like *you* want it to.
Probably is my ignorance about these issues.
The fact is that creation date is kept when I download files from ftp servers from my MAC. Is it not the same when you send than when you receive files?
Thank you
As already pointed out by unSpawn, the FTP protocol cannot preserve timestamp. The timestamp of the downloaded files is preserved because the client does something by retrieving the timestamp of the source file and setting the timestamp of the local copy accordingly. For example you can query the modification time of a remote file by the ftp command modtime and then touch your local copy. But there is no way, or at least no standard way, to preserve the mod time of an uploaded file.
