I'm new to ubuntu and am wanting to really keep track of system events (logs). I'm used to using the MS XP "events viewer" which shows everything from bad logins to app. deaths and its all done in a friendly, cozy gui front-end. Anything like this I can use with ubuntu?
Thanks for the reply. The native log app for ubuntu works, but is kind of lame. Even something like the system log analyzer for redhat fc3 would be good. BTW- anyone know the name of that log app?

thx,

It's called System Log, and it's under System Tools. The actual command is gnome-system-log.
Yes, I know about that sys log app., that's the one I'm complaining about ;-)
Its lame and doesn't break down the logs into categories like, security, application and system, like the RH FC3 app. does (or xp for that matter). Any other ideas?
