iSight Jaunty fix does not last

Hello, I upgraded by a clean install from Hardy to Jaunty and have really liked it so far, but now I'm having a major problem. My iSight is not working properly. When I open up Cheese, everything is green, even the resulting picture. Now, I resolved this once through the Ubuntu forums, but have since tried to go back to the original Jaunty, since I was using a custom LiveDVD, in order to get my Apple remote working, which failed. Now, everytime I reboot Ubuntu always loads the upgraded version of libv4l, thus making my iSight look green again. I really don't want to reimplement the fix each time I boot into the OS. I'm currently test installing a recent custom liveDVD and hope I do not encounter the same problem again.

This is the link where I found the fix: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MacBook2-1/Jaunty

Update: Okay, I have got the fix working properly after only one attempt on the custom liveDVD, but I'd still like to see why the official LiveCD install has this problem.
