Smile Is Dell XPS 16 is compatible for using linux (ubuntu)


hello,
I am planning to buy a new Dell laptop, Dell XPS 16 . I want to know anyone used this machine with linux. Is there any problems in this machine with linux. I sit compatible well with ubuntu. hope to get ur replies soon.

If you want 3D rendering for games and stuff you would probably be better off with a laptop that uses nvidia graphics imo. The nvidia linux 3D drivers tend to be easier to setup and less prone to problems than ati. If you don't care about 3D graphics performance then that laptop would probably work fine. Then again, if you only want 2D then a laptop with intel graphics would also be ok and would likely be cheaper.
I have never used ati graphics though; so I am not very knowledgeable about ati. I am just going by what I have read about ati vs nvidia in linux.
A quick google search found this thread that says that laptop's ati card will work in Ubuntu using the ati fglrx 3D driver:
