Internet Problem

I have installed Ubuntu Linux 5.04 I have an Ethernet card and was told that I could use my present broadband connection which is BT internet using a Voyager 210 modem, this information did not come from BT, they had informed that BT did not have any configuration for Linux, however the chap who I spoke to said that it was possible providing I was ysing a Ethernet connection. I have tried but have had no joy.would appreciate and help or advice. Happy Bricky:

Give us more details about what exactly you've tried. What kind of network card do you have?
