How do you install wxPython >= 4 on Ubuntu 18.04?
i did research and it talked about pip and hte such. I know almost nothing about python. A app I wish to run requires it.

Doesn't buntu have that in it's repository?

I'm not up to date.
Code:
pacman -Si python-wxpython
...
Name : python-wxpython
Version : 4.0.6-1
Description : Cross-platform GUI toolkit
Architecture : x86_64
URL : https://www.wxpython.org
Licenses : custom:wxWindows
...
Depends On : wxgtk3 python-six
Optional Deps : python-pypubsub: Alternative to the deprecated wx.lib.pubsub API
...
Download Size : 7.75 MiB
Installed Size : 46.37 MiB
...
Best thing is to install from your repo with your package manager.

If you must use pip then install to a directory in home. Such as ~/python/modules/. That way you won't mess up your buntu install. If you start installing things in your tree without your pkg manager knowing about it, you'll overwrite things and have a mess.

I don't know what Ubuntu calls that package. Arch calls it python-wxpython. You'll need to run your own machine.

Also use google

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/...n-ubuntu-18-04
https://askubuntu.com/questions/7587...n-ubuntu-16-04

Looks like that package has a version number on it.

$ apt-cache search wx

I guess you can use one or more of these :
python-hachoir-wx, python-wxgtk-media3.0, python-wxgtk-media4.0, python-wxgtk-webview3.0, python-wxgtk-webview4.0, python-wxgtk3.0, python-wxgtk3.0-dev, python-wxgtk4.0, python-wxmpl, python-wxtools, python-wxversion, python3-wxgtk-media4.0, python3-wxgtk-webview4.0, python3-wxgtk4.0
