Installing Ubuntu on older laptop
I am trying to install Ubuntu 7.04 on an old Fujitsu Lifebook.
I am using a bought CD which has worked well before on older laptops and has been used to install on this machine on a previous occasion. It loads the basic system, then when I command Install it asks for Language then Location and freezes. I seem to recall there is a trick to overcome this. It is something like using "nohdma" "no**" at the initial install screen. Ive forgotten the magic words, can someone please remind me? Thanks. |
Try with "noacpi nolacpi"

Thank you, that's exactly what I needed.
