While you can use the installer application the HL-2270DW wireless can be configured using its built in web configuration setup. If you can connect the printer via an ethernet cable you can setup wireless easily. The IP address can be typically found via your routers attached devices or you can print the network configuration settings from the front panel and then access the printer by its IP address i.e. http://IP_address

Once the wireless is configured with the SSID and wpa you can pull the cable and restart the printer. You can verify it is connection again directly from the printer itself or via your router.

Since the HL-2270 can use PCL6 print language I sometimes cheat and configure it as any HP PCL 6 printer. You can also use the 2170 driver if it is already installed too. If the basic foomatic drivers are not installed then you will need to install them or the correct driver.
