installing apps from packages.ubuntu.com


how can i install apps from packages.ubuntu .com?
with a gui like yast2 or rpmdrake or by commands?
help me..
using kubuntu 5.04

apt-get is the package manager used by Debian and since Ubuntu is Debian based, it's used by Ubuntu.

The GUI frontend for apt is Synaptic. You really should read the Ubuntu Wiki as it provides some very good information on how to use apt/Synaptic, setting up your repositories source.list and other usefull information on managing your system.

Oldforce,

I went through this the other week...

Just download the .deb file from "Packages" and type: dpkg -i "filename.deb" and it should install. The benefit of Synaptic is that it will auto solve the dependency issues.
