Usually you modify the /etc/fstab (the file system table) to show what you want mounted on booting.
With some Raid Controllers, you may have to add the drives to the controllers BIOS (at least that is
what I have to do on my 3Ware controllers) and not worry about the file system table at all.

Best to look at what the fstab tell you now about the current configuration.

If it only has on drive (say /dev/sdc0) as the Raid Drives, then it appears that the Raid Controller
handles all I/O via that one drive specification. So, I would simple add more drives to the Raid,
making sure that the controller sees the extra drives on boot - assuming you want the same Raid set up.
If your wanting the new pair to do Raid/1/0 the the controller surely will allow you at the BIOS boot
level to carry out this configuration and check.

My experience has been that the Raid Controller usually handles all the intermediary configurable requirements
as long as your added drives are extending the current Raid consignment.

Give it a go and see what transpires.
Cheers.
