Your question and post are worded strangely, but if you mean you can have a working Ubuntu install without having to download anything special, the answer is yes, but you won't get any security updates or be able to add software.

well that was in a big hurry!!!!!!
actually, i installed suse 10.1(from iso's) but my hardware (vga) was not detected. so no point in continuing with it. then i tried fedora6(from iso's)- but there was nothing special about it especially when compared to suse.thererefore i went the fedora6 kde way but the installer was bugy.

at last i tried ubuntus live cd and it detected my vga.due to a weak system i could not install it(hangs up).

can u tell me how to install from iso (UBUNTU). i have the GRUB. DONT TELL ME TO DOWNLOAD HEAVY FILES. I have slow net connection-2kbps

i hope this will explain everything...

Huh? Your english confuses me. You said you have the iso image, but don't want to burn them to a cd?

If you have the iso image, then you have no choice but to burn them to a cd. You don't have to install them to the hard drive, but it will only function as a live cd.
