installed Fedora 7, now cant get into ubuntu
i have 2 hard drives in my pc. one is 146 gig ubuntu linux, the other is now fedora 7 30 gig. i've just installed fedora 7 on the second hdd (30 gig), not touching the ubuntu. but now when i switch to boot into ubuntu, it gives me this:
Grub loading stage 1.5 Error 15 i don't want to lose all my files by doing a clean install by putting ubuntu back on the 146 gig because i know my files are still there. is there any way i can repair the grub to make it boot correctly. please help. thanks in advance! __________________ asta la Vista, Windows |
Yes, there is a way.
I think the problem you got is that the fedora 7 grub changed ubuntu's files on a boot partition or ubuntu /boot dir. You can try to install the same grub to both systems. Just run as root $/sbin/grub-install HDD where DEVICE is the ubuntu's HDD I think you can keep the /boot/grub/grub.conf file unchanged, once both systems appears at the list. |
