install trouble - kernel not found?
I recently successfully installed Ubuntu Hoary preview on one laptop, without any difficulty. I just attempted to install it on another laptop, using the same CD, and at about 70% through installing the base system, after displaying a message that it is updating available packages, I receive the following error message:
No installable kernel was found in the defined APT sources.
The current default kernel package is 'kernel-image.'
You may try to continue though this rather strange error is probably fatal.
As predicted, I am unable to continue with the installation. It successfully configured my network card, so it's not an issue of accessing the internet. Any idea what the heck is going on? The laptop is a Dell Inspiron 5000e, with superior specs to the laptop I successfully installed it on. Thanks.
