install software of hard drive on ubuntu

I have Ubuntu software collection in one folder on my hard. I need ssoftware to be install in the hard drive,of not the Internet. please help me step by step how I set Ubuntu to do this

What does this mean? pac? It can mean a variety of things - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PAC

What does this mean? Have you got Ubuntu loaded? Do you need Ubuntu? What software?

I mean, I want software to be install on the hard drive, not the Internet

If you want software to be installed to your hard drive, the best way to do it is to use the package manager, Synaptic. If you are not familiar with how to do this, re-post and indicate what specific software you want. Someone who is an Ubuntu user should be able to tell you exactly how to do what you need to do and if that software is available.

When you use Ubuntu's package management utilities (software center, synaptic package manager) the software is installed to your hard drive. See this for enabling extra repositories:

You want to install software from a CD, not over the 'net.

There's an app for that!

It's called aptoncd ("apt on CD"). You'll need an internet connection to install it on the Ubuntu computer you want to copy files from. Use Synaptic to install aptoncd to that computer, then use aptoncd to copy the .deb files you want to store onto CDs. You can burn a data CD using Brasero, Xfburn, K3B, whatever burning program you want. Add all the .deb files for whatever programs you want on the CD.

Then on the other computer (or other installation) you can use the CD you burned as a source to install all the copied .debs.

P.S. Linux Mint has a superb "Mint Backup" app that does all this with a very simple graphical interface. It needs to be installed on both computers. On the first you do "Backup" and on the second you do "Restore."

What kind of software do you actually need on the hard drive?

Web browser?! Use Firefox, which is already installed. Chat client?! Use Empathy, which is already installed. Email client?! Use Evolution, which is already installed. Microblog (Twitter/Facebook) client?! Use Gwibber or the Me Menu, both already installed.

And if you want more *free* apps, just search the Ubuntu Software Center and you'll find a whole bunch of Internet-related goodies.
