Install manpages-dev
it's said that Ubuntu does't have Man 2...
and someone suggested me try Quote:
and what's next?? the "apt-get install manpages-dev" messages post below. Quote:
tks every one. any kind of help is expected and appreciates |
I don't know why you would have installed a package if you had no idea what was in it. That just doesn't make sense.
In response to this post I performed a find on /usr/share/man and put the result into a file. Then I installed manpages-dev. Then I performed the find command again and put the result into a different file. There are 2406 more listings after installing manpages-dev. I had intended to post the differences between the two listings but there are too many. On the other hand I'm using Kubuntu 8.04 so I may have installed a different package than you installed. Try using Google to find what is in the package. A search something like "ubuntu manpages-dev files" should provide a useful listing. |
Basically after doing the install manpages-dev you can get help on software development subjects. For example:
man fork or man 3 printf |
appreciate for your reply
I've solved my problem, found a auto-install script writen by somebody. but unfortunatly, I lost the address of that script. any way, tks to all who replied my thread. :hattip: |
