Current OS is Mepis, when I boot to the CD it will load back into Mepis. How do I wipe Mepis out to load the U.

If you boot the computer using the Ubuntu CD - you may have to adjust the boot device priority in your BIOS, you should just be able to install Ubuntu over Mepis. Ubuntu will partition your hard drive, or format the existing partitions.

DO Ineed to preparethe ISO before burning?

in mepis you should just be able to click on the iso and it will fire up k3b and get burning.

then it will do all the work for you.

not sure what you mean by prepare...

The burn did not work right. Had to right click on the image and say copy to not use Roxio. Forgot what program I installed earlier to work with iso's...

Just be sure to "burn from disc image" or the like...
