Sorry for so many problems, I try to google before I post.
I heard people saying that Ubuntu has a spash image that replaces all the text during boot. I've installed Ubuntu several times on this laptop, and NEVER have I gotten a splash screen during boot. I checked, usplash is installed.
Also, I get a error at boot (the very first message I see) that reads:
insmod: can't load /lib/modules/2.6.12-10-386/initrd/vesafb.ko No such file or Directory
This file IS in this directory, however...
Is this what's keeping my splash screen from starting. I also have a widescreen laptop, and have to use the vga=771 option when I install. Any ideas?
