Under Ubuntu 12.04 there seems to be a problem in implementing the Java script necessary to launch the certification procedure of the InfoCert BusinessKey Lite for digital signatures using the Firefox browser. I must use this key only 3 or 4 times a year and can do so without great difficulty if I use a Windows machine, but I would very much like to be able to do so under my Ubuntu 12.04 system. Any information or suggestions in this regard would be welcome. It is probably not an urgent problem (not even for me).
Nevertheless, I would like to avoid recourse to Windows or Mac solutions if possible.

Thanks for the quick action on my admittedly not very specific post. Unfortunately, I am unable to "duplicate" the problem since once the digital signature has been "attached" to the document using the InfoCert BusinessKey Lite under Windows, the document is no longer writable or executable, and thus the Javascript governing the key's functioning no longer gets called. Unfortunately I don't have a screen shot or file recording the error message regarding the malfunctioning Java script. Indeed at one point the Ubuntu error message was just a gray rectangle where one would have expected some failure message.
Sorry to be so vague, and thanks for placing this problem in the right thread. I won't have this problem again for another 4 or 5 months, so the question is not at all urgent, but I would like to understand the problem better, so any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. Presumably some sort of script would serve as a bridge between the Windows Java implementation and that supported by Ubuntu 12.04, but here I am just guessing.

First of all please update your profile as you've dropped RHL-7.3 for Ubuntu probably ages ago. I'd say in essence the problem is with the provider (see this) and the effort (or not) it put into providing its software. Since instructions for DikeXLite on Mac OSX exist (see this) and from this we learn a "DikeL version 4.2.5 (Ubuntu Linux)" exists you only have to search this site to find out where you can D/L the Zip file. Let us know when you have it and maybe contact the author of that first link?

Thanks for the links which I am now investigating. As suggested, I have also updated my profile. The comments resulting from the first link seem to be either dead or empty, but the DikeL 4.2.5 software does indeed seem to be available, and I will try loading and installing it.
Thanks again for "getting me started". I will undoubtedly "be back" soon, especially since it seems I will have to use the Digital Signature software again sooner than I had expected.
