Ichthus 6.10 logon problems
I recently started playing around with Knoppix and Ichthux distro's of Linux. I played around with Red Hat years ago when it was really hard to install. It seems as if things have gotten a bit more user friendly for us Windoze users. Anyway, I said all of that to let you know I am a newbie with Linux but I am very trainable. I installed Ichthux 6.10 as a dual boot config on my Toshiba laptop. The GUI (X?) loads up and shows me the logon screen. When I put my user id (james) and my pw in it says logon failed. I can log on as a single user (option) which dumps me to a command line. When it asks for a logon and password it takes the one that I set up (james) during the install phase. Is there a way to log on at the command line and reset the password for James ? Any help would be appreciated greatly. I am also trying to figure out how to get my Ichthux install to see my Windows XP shares and print to the network printers. That is a different issue alltogether. Thanks
