I want to get Ubuntu with old kernel

Dear all,

I have some programs that can only run in Linux kernel 2.4.0 --> 2.4.18 (or 2.2.5 --> 2.2.18) but I don't know where I can download. Please show me.

Thank you very much

Ubuntu has only ever been offered with 2.6 kernels.
Consider another distro.

Welcome to LQ.

I am not sure, that you can add kernel 2.4.18 to a contemporary Ubuntu.

Requirements, probably : An old OS. And a 10 year old computer.
Slackware 8.1 is still maintained. And has kernel 2.4.18.

Which software is it, that requires kernel 2.4.18 ? ?

.

Thank for your answers

I try to install NIST Net but it was difficult with new version.
http://snad.ncsl.nist.gov/nistnet/install.html

Based on the website, it can run on linux kernel < 2.6.11. I have never tested with 2.6.xx but I also didn't find version 2.6.11 in Ubuntu.

Supported OS with kernel 2.6.9 : CentOS 4.9 .

Unsupported:
Ubuntu 5.04 (April 2005) : Released with 2.6.10.
Later updated to: 2.6.11.2 (2006).

have fun with that 6 year old and not updated code

a bit of advice -- buy $$$ an old computer from before 2004 ( 2001 to 2004 ) that had xp that had NO service pack or service pack-1 preinstalled
run it on a OLD computer from BEFORE 2004 ( a win98 computer might be needed ? )
it will most likely never run on a modern computer
the OS required for it will never run on a modern computer
