I have heard of "new math" is this "Ubuntu math"?

I just read my post - I cannot tell a GB from a TB. Too embarrassing to leave here

1000^3 vs 1024^3 bytes and 1000^6 vs (1024^6)/8 bytes or twice as many nibbles. And then there is the marketing bigabyte unit of storage measure (before formatting etc.) - sort of like the dimensions of a monitor "measured diagonally" (to the outer edge of the tube on a CRT).

p.s. I used to wear the yellow lapel pin. Have not been active for many years.
