HP LaserJet 1320 won't print large jobs (PDFs)

After a little more messing around, I found that my new LaserJet 1320 prints PDF documents at, for example, about 6 pages at a time. However sending it a 25-page document causes the printer to flash the error light and halt until the job is cancelled. I originally though that all PDFs didn't print but it turns out that smaller jobs work fine.

Is this just an issue with the printer (not enough memory?) or is there something I can do about it?
