How to stop avahi-daemon from running and starting up?


I am tring to stop avahi from starting and running at all.

I use kill PID and killall avahi-daemon and it will not go away, it comes back

with a new PID. Does anyone know a way of stopping it?

/etc/init.d/avahi-daemon stop

?

I found that I could uninstall it using the ubuntu software center..
