Wink How to run VB6 project in Ubuntu


This is my 1st mail regarding Ubuntu, I am beginner to Ubuntu, I have my project developed in VB6 with MS SQL 2000, so one of my client having ubuntu 8.10, How can I run my project in ubuntu.

Visual Basic, and the programs it generates, are for Windows. Ubuntu cannot run Window programs, though you can try running it through WINE and seeing what happens. VB software will usually work if you install the runtime environment, but there is no guarantee.

Alternately, you could look into porting it to REALbasic, which is similar to Visual Basic but puts out portable binaries that will run on Windows/Linux/Mac.
