How to restore Ubuntu Loading screen...

I recently installed the KDE environment and it changed the loading boot screen to Kubuntu from Ubuntu, it is actually kind of annoying and I can't figure out how to change it back, I can't find any documentation anywhere, I even removed the KDE environment and it is still there, everything else went back to normal. If someone would be kind enough to show me a link or just tell me what to do I would very much appreciate it. Thanks.

Hi,

Did you install the KDE package or the Kubuntu package? I've installed KDE (but not Kubuntu) and I still have the same splash screen as before (although I generally don't use it). I don't really know the answer to your question, but I poked around a little. You might check out the man pages for usplash and usplash_write to see if you can find any clues. (I just briefly glanced at these pages.)

Selecting a usplash...

Try the steps here:

Cheers,
