how to minimize app to notification area

Amarok does this by default. Rythmbox does not. How to put rythmbox in NA. Applies to Real player as well.

Amarok is very buggy, and consumes my limited resources.

I remember this behaviour from amarok under kde:
When you close the window - not just minimize it - it would still not actually close, but disappear into the notification area. When I wanted to really close it I had to do it through the menu which then was in the notification area.
Rhythmbox behaves different. If you close its window it really exits. If you minimize it - it does so.
However - when it is running it creates an icon in the notification-area - click on that icon and it will disappear into it - without leaving a minimized window behind, click again and it is back.
