how to login to root


i install ubuntu 6.06
after i install,i have found problem.the problem is i can`t login into root@admin.it say admin can`t login with this(something like that)this my second install.my first install i used other username.so i need some help here..please..
before this i used slackware,suse,mandriva and fedora.i have no problem with that.can anyone help me?

i can`t login to user account too.so i just press ctrl+alt+f1 to switch to terminal?

Why can't you login to the user account that was created during the install process?

Switching to a terminal won't necessarily help. It would depend on the exact problem you are having.

yes it is.when use root as user i can`t login.why?
slackware use root as user account.

Check out the links that we have posted, they explain why you can't login as root in Ubuntu.
