Hello I am trying out Ubuntu for the first time, I have been having problems with SUSE 10.2 so want to find other options and since I saw that Ubuntu won the distro of the year I decided to test drive it.

I got the latest release from the Ubuntu website which is Ubuntu 6.10.

I noticed that inkscape was not pre installed so I clicked on the add/remove program option from the menu bar and then tried selecting Inkscape.

Unfortunately to my surprise I got this message that said that Inkscape cannot be installed on my i386 computer right now because it might need special hardware or that the vendor does not support my computer.

How can I get around this??

OK I fixed my little problem.

All I had to do was to connect my computer to the internet and download the most recent packages and then I installed it. I am happy to have inkscape again.

Now My only thing I have to do to make my computer as functional as possible is to configure my wireless internet card.
