How to Instal JRE on Version 6.06

I downloaded the installer for Linux from the website, but now I'm unsure as to what exactly to do with it to have it installed and usable by Firefox.

Enable the "multiverse" repository
Enableing Repositorys in Ubuntu or Enableing Repositorys in Kubutnu
then just install "sun-java5-jre" and "sun-java5-plugin" (if you want java in firefox) with Synaptic (gnome) or Adept (KDE)
That's it
