how to configure dial-up connection


im completly new to linux, i just thought it would be fun to try something new and..yeah im having problems.
i just cant find a way to create a new dial-up connection and actually connect with it on ubuntu 5.10
i mean i go system > administration > networking and add a new connection but i cant figure out how to actually connect.
any help at all would bee greatly appreciated.

While the faq is for Hoary Hedgehog, the commands will still work in Breezy Badger.
