How do you make a desktop icon for the trash????

I just installed Ubuntu 9.04 and i love it!!!!! anyways, how can i make a desktop icon for the trash??? it's really annoying having to go to the bottom of my screen everytime i delete stuff.

Hey everyone,

i figured it out, and i thought it would be good to share it here. Here's what i did:

1. Right-Click on the desktop and select > Create Launcher
2. Fill out the info like name and stuff
3. under Command: type in "nautilis trash:///"
4. create the launcher

you can even give it a custom icon if you want to

yeah, i saw that when i was googleing the problem, and it didn't work for me. It made my icons disappear.

The best thing to do is try one method, and if it doesn't work, try the other

Why an icon?
Right click item, see menu open, select trash or select delete.
