How can i configure my IP in ubuntu ?


How can i configure my IP in ubuntu ?
i want to put my ip and subnetmask and gateway and DNS
so where i go to do this ?

and the second thing when i double click on an .exe application i have this error (Couldn't display "/media/hdb10/Coffee Games/HCBG2.EXE".)


help is needed and thanks.

To connect to a LAN without a DHCP server perhaps?

System > Administration > Networking

Why would you expect a windows/dos executable to run in linux?

sudo vi /etc/network/interfaces

sudo vi /etc/resolv.conf

I'd suggest the GUI path. In Gnome, System-> Administration-> Networking. All you need is in those tabs and the properties. IMHO -- Its great to know the command line but its more fool proof with a GUI way to get the job done.
