Hotplug installation

Is there anyway to install hotplug over udev as I am trying to install my speedtouch 330 modem? If someone could please help as quickly as possible? I have to install it this way as the other way was unfortuneatly too complicated for me.

What is so hard about it?

As far as I can see, getting hotplug back into dapper would be much much harder. It seems to be pure udev all the way. It should just be a matter of plugging the modem in and installing the supplied firmware.

Personally, I use a router.

OK - so installing the speedtouch under udev is too much for you too?
