hitch installing apache

hi there,
can you possibly help me unserstand this please?

I tried sudo apt-get install apache2 and got:

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
You might want to run ‘apt-get -f install’ to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
apache2: Depends: apache2-mpm-worker (= 2.0.53-5ubuntu5.1) but it is not going to be installed or
apache2-mpm-prefork (= 2.0.53-5ubuntu5.1) but it is not goin g to be installed or
apache2-mpm-perchild (= 2.0.53-5ubuntu5.1) but it is not goi ng to be installed
mozilla-firefox-gnome-support: Depends: firefox-gnome-support but it is not go ing to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try ‘apt-get -f install’ with no packages (or specify a s olution).

Is it asking about multi-processing modules? I thought apt resolved dependencies..?
Is it saying that apache require mozilla firefox also?

i tried:

sudo apt-get -f install apache2
and got;

can you shed any light on this for me?

do i need to learn how to use a gcc compiler before i can do this?
Any help greatly appreciated,
howard
