High pitched sound
Hey guys, I just made the switch to Edgy the other day.
My biggest problem is that whenever I open Amarok or anything else play audio, I get this high pitched noise. I've been messing around with the volume controls, but nothing has worked yet.
I don't know too much about ubuntu either, I'm hoping for an easy fix.

Hi, I have been using Edgy on 3 computers for some time. I get the "High pitch tone" on just one of my computers. When I installed the latest one, it got the tone and the one that had it before no longer had it.
My totally uneducated guess is that it is feed back from the monitor, possibly through the power cords somehow.
I would like some help also.

You may try a snap-on ferrite core or a ferrite bead. (Google will bring up some info about these things.) The monitor may already have one on the end, but you can try putting one on the end of the speaker wire, where it plugs into the soundcard.
