I dont even know how it happened - all I did today was uninstall and reinstall firefox (was trying to get latest version)

I have no idea how to get the option back...I've searched through google and on here and found no answers....I dont want to reinstall

when I highlight applications in the left windowI can't see add/remove anywhere in the right window and there are other options under applications in the left window - such as accessories, games, graphics ...etc.

...cant find add/remove anywhere though

w00t...it's fixed!

turns out that the add/remove option is a little program called gnome-app-install.

Downloading gnome-app-install using synaptic put the option back

btw...thanx nuxrl - your suggestion gave me an idea to look at my wife's ubuntu install. Right clicking on add/remove in her menu editor showed in properties which program it is associated with.
