solved, took me a few days, any 1 of you [removed] could have posted a sentence and helped but obviously nobody bothered.

You need a UEFI boot partition (VFAT) with a size of 500MB.
It must be mounted under /boot/efi/.

Did this computer originally come with some type of operating system and if so, what is/was it?
Based on the infor in your post, you have a computer with one hard drive which has no operating system and you are trying to install 'Neon' on it as the only OS, is that correct? Do you know if this is an EFI capable machine and whether you have it set to boot UEFI and you attempted to install Neon UEFI? Did you try to do an LVM install as that usually requires a separate boot partition. It isn't clear whether you need a boot partition or an EFI partition.

Hi yancek no OS, I just bought the parts and put them in to a case. I was trying to install Neon as the sole OS, yes. I didn't try a LVM install. I'm unsure as to which partition I used, I downloaded the KDE Neon live ISO then made a bootable USB with rufus. In bios under compatability support module I have

Launch CSM: Enabled
Boot device control: UEFI and legacy OPROM
Boot from storage devices: UEFI driver first / also tried legacy only

I just tried kubuntu live USB, it loads but I get an error (image attached) and then it loads, but the screen is split in half (pic 2)

Do you have any idea what I can do to solve this? Keruskerfuerst could you give me a bit more info, I'm not sure what you mean. Thanks for the help

UEFI Bios boots from a partition mounted under /boot/efi - Windows 10 also does this.

My live USB is created with an ISO + rufus so I dont have any control over anything like that. I checked the folders on the USB, in /boot/grub I have a folder named: x86_64-efi and also efi.img

In /EFI/Boot I have Bootx64.efi and grubx64.efi. I've never used win10 + when I first installed neon using the ISO + rufus it worked fine

Can we close thread this after editing out last insult term? The OP refuses to use business appropriate words.
