Hi, I'd like to install Scribus 1.3, but I'm a Linux newbie and can't get Synaptic to do what I want. I also tried editing my sources.list file from the terminal, and that didn't work either. I'm following the instructions given here:
http://docs.scribus.net/index.php?la...e=install-dpkg
I can add the repositories, but then when I reload in Synaptic, I get a couple error messages:
Quote:
Could not download all repository indexes
The repository might be no longer available or could not be contacted because of network problems. If available an older version of the failed index will be used. Otherwise the repository will be ignored. Check your network connection and the correct writing of the repository address in the preferences.

What does all this mean? As you can see from the first error message, I have an AMD 64 and am using the AMD64 version of Ubuntu. Might this matter?
Thanks for any help.
The only way I can get this too-helpful post editor to leave my URLs alone and quit automatically tagging them is to place an empty tag at the beginning.
