Help Installing KDE On Ubuntu Server Edition 8.10


Hey Guys
Normaly Im Not This Stupid But I Can Only Find Out How TO Do Gnome With Ubuntu And The Command For That Actually Downloaded the Hole Ubuntu Desktop Edition Even Know It Came off There Support Site, So Im Given Up On There Support ;D

Anyways Anyone No A Command To Run And Install KDE

Say Apt Whatever Whatever
Or If Its Not Apt Get Install Whatever Say Anything that will help me!

If you mean to add the kubuntu desktop try: sudo aptitude install kubuntu-desktop

sudo passwd root

*setup the root password then:

logout

*login now as root

sudo apt-get install kde

....Which is all wrong, no root password needed in Ubuntu !

For the command, see # 3 and # 4. "kde" doesn't work.

You don't need to login as root to use sudo. and you don't need to set root password to use sudo on ubuntu.

It makes sense to enable root account, but this isn't needed for this task.
