Help a newbie configure Soundcard etc

Hello
I am a newbie to Linux.
I have a XP Media Centre, Amd Atlon 64, 2 hds dividedinto 4 subdrives;
NVIDIA geoforce 6600 Le Graphics card
Creative AX-F1 Sound Card; Thompson’s Speed Touch 330 USB ADSL Modem; and Brother DCP 8045D USB Printer.

I have a live could of Ubuntu Fiesta 7.04.

It loads and correctly recognises all my drives.
But it does not play music, play videos, print or connect to internet.
It does not recognise Sound card, Graphics cardr, USB Printer or modem.

I will be immensly grateful if some good soul can guide me how to configure these.
This will help me enter and perhaps many newbies to do the same.

Please remember I am a complete newbi, and you need to hold my hand step-by-step guide.

Many many thanks.
Raj

Read this article on your modem, its possible but may be in the difficult range for a newbie. http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=14648 Here's the info on the printer http://openprinting.org/show_printer...ther-DCP-8045D Here is a choice of many driver listings for linux for your video http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...ux&btnG=Search I can't find much on your sound card. When you install your drivers try and do it through your package manager, I believe it is Sympathetic and use your repositories when ever possible.
