Be aware that "Breezy Badger" requires about 1.8 Gb to install and operate, and any less than a 4 Gb root (/) partition with a 256 Mb swap partition can make the install process stop abruptly. We expect that this matter will be cleared up shortly.
I have Ubuntu, Xubuntu, and Kubuntu installed to one partition, and it uses 3.4 GB total (that also includes other programs I've installed on top of that--Acrobat Reader, Scribus, Inkscape, Epiphany, KWord, etc.).

4 or 5GB should be enough for the root directory. 2 times your RAM for the swap space. However, make sure that you leave enough space for /home - leave as much space as possible.
How much disk space do you have available, and are you planning to dual boot with Windows? If you can give us more information about what you want to do, then we can give you a more detailed solution.
