Has anyone anywhere been able to completely replace nautilus with pcfman in ubuntu 12.04? The only thing I can google is for an older ubuntu version found here:
http://www.ubuntugeek.com/how-to-rep...in-ubuntu.html

I can't even get files pertaining to nautilus to display in a gksudo nautilus or a gksudo pcmanfm browser window, in either file browser. I can search them with kfind, but the same-named files (from the directions at the link above) are not present, so these old instructions are probably useless, anyway. I have to get rid of nautilus completely. It displays my truecrypt keyfile names on "Recently Used" in the left pane, and that is outrage.

Nautlius in part of Gnome. You are not going to remove all traces of it.

If you want pcmanfm install Lubuntu.
