hard drive reconfig help

I have a Gateway, P4, Igb memory, 2 80gb HD system. The 2 HD are configured in a software RAID 1 setup. I wish to change the setup to one drive as the system drive and the other as a backup whereby daily I would run a script to save a image to the second drive.

Howto needed

You don't need a howto...

1. backup your data
2. reinstall your distro to just one drive, reformatting both.

What you want to read about is tar and cron.
