Hanging installing ubuntu on raid array

I have a raid array as such.

md0 200mb "/boot" raid1
md1 1500mb "swap" raid5
md2 748gb "/" raid5
md3 2gb "/tmp" raid5

I am seeing errors over and over like

symlink disk:##
failed:file exists

Randomly it will print out the md2 array and then just hang. This is happening on the package install phase. I have tried ext3 and reiserfs just to take that out of the equation and the error is the same. I have tried 2 different cd's, both burned at the lowest speed possible.

Sometimes i am only getting this far. This happens during package installation.
