It does not work with either wine or Cedega. Please search the forums for "Wine Halo" or "Cedega Halo".
I've managed to install it with wine a few years ago and that is pretty much as far as you can get. Forget about getting it to run at all.
For some reason, most Microsoft games won't run well with wine or Cedega, exceptions are perhaps Dungeon Siege 1 and 2. And judging by the way Halo 2 PC works, that most likely will never happen either.

Sorry to say this, but this is one of the things that holds Linux back. Nobody seems to be willing to pay for software. Pay for games? Sure. But for Linux software, a lot of users scream "OMG". That is why we don't have programs so much needed in Linux, such as Photoshop, CAD programs, 3D modelers and even a descent speech-recognition program like Dragon Naturally-speaking. Cedega costs like 15 bucks. Only that man. 15 bucks. And by the looks of it, native games for Linux won't happen anytime soon (not in the same amount of Windows or even MacOSX at least), so support programs that actually wants to help you.
Just a thought...
