i have an 8G usb keydrive set with 2 partitions (512M as ext2 and 7.5G as vfat)
plugging this into my opensuse 11 desktop it automounts both partitions and is useable.
on my netbook (acer aspire one running ubuntu 8.10 beta) the ext2 partition mounts fine, the fat one gives me the error

i can mount it fine manually but then i cant write to it as a normal user, as its set to root ownership and i cant chown it
any ideas as to what is going wrong?
