Gyach Enhanced and pY! Voice Chat

Has anyone got this software to work on Ubuntu?Gyach Enhanced and pY! Voice Chat
If you did, what did you have to do to get it working? Did you have to convert it to a deb with Alien?

Yes I used alien to convert it into a deb. Then I installed it by "dpkg -i <filename>"

I must have checked if I had all dependencies in synaptic. I don't remember properly.

The x86 binaries ran fine on mine, I don't believe making debs from the rpms ever worked for me.

Have you tried SuSE Linux? I installed SuSE 10.0 and run the gyach enhanced pyvoicechat. It works perfectly just disable the smileys. Have fun using it.

hi gaspar_verano. im wondering if you were able to get the voice to work. ive had no luck with it. when someone sends me an invite to chat they get an invite to play chess, lol.
also, have you (or anyone else) had problems with gyach not opening? i click it and it doesnt do anything. i have to create a new user then it works fine, but after a couple weeks i have the same problem and its a pain in the butt to set up the desktop every couple of weeks.
i'll admit that im linux retarted, so im hoping someone else has had this problem and knows how to fix it.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
